quiet and misty in the morning light. From there, we hiked to Seljavallalaug, one of Iceland’s oldest pools, tucked away in a narrow valley. A cold swim, but worth it.
Next stop was Skógafoss, powerful and full of spray, followed by a quick shopping break before heading to the coast. We visited Dyrhólaey, the cliff with a hole through it, then walked the black sand beach with its striking basalt cave.
We camped nearby and grilled turkey for dinner – simple and good after a full day.
