Road F35 & Hveravellir geothermal pool

June 16, 2023 – Into the Highlands
We followed the road F35 into the highlands, passing the remote and beautiful lake Hvítárvatn. Stopped for a quiet lunch out in the wild – just us and the vast Icelandic landscape.

Continued along the mountain road to Hveravellir, a unique geothermal area surrounded by rugged terrain and steaming vents. A short, scenic hike gave us a closer look, followed by a soak in the natural hot pool.

Dinner was coconut curry fish cooked at camp, with a glass of wine and, later, a cold beer in the steaming water. A perfect way to end the day.
